What if?

  • you could log into all your favourite websites using one simple password?
  • you could enter your personal data once and use it on many websites?
  • you had a simple way of determining how information about you is used and disclosed by others?
  • you could ensure that your personal information and identity was controlled by one person - you?
Conventional addresses such as e-mail addresses, telephone numbers and postal addresses are linked to a specific location, device or service. As such, they are difficult to change. What the World needs is something more abstract and unlinked to anything except the individual.
i-names

An i-name is your own individual identity on the web. One name identifies one person. Regardless of who you work for, which Internet Service Provider you use or where you live, your i-name will always be the same.

You will be able to use your i-name to login to your favourite websites - no need for e-mail addresses or made-up usernames. In addition, an i-name and associated i-services can help you to automatically fill in registration forms with your personal details, saving you time and ensuring accuracy.

i-name Lookup

Type any i-name below to lookup and navigate directly to the owner's contact page:

Help

  • Type an i-name into the box above and click Lookup i-name to be taken straight to the owner's contact page.
  • Make sure you include the = or @ prefix for the i-name
  • Try it with your own i-name, or you can try =you - you should be redirected to our home page!

Technical Notes

  • The i-name lookup is very straightforward - it simply takes the i-name you give it and redirects you to the XRI registry to lookup the name.
  • You can add an i-name lookup to your site very easily with the following code:
    <input class="iname_lookup" id="iname_lookup_input" /><br />
    <button onclick="window.open('http://xri.net/' + document.getElementById('iname_lookup_input').value);">Lookup i-name</button>

  • You can style your i-name lookup box to match ours with this simple CSS:
    input.iname_lookup {
      background: url('http://equalsyou.com/images/iname_lookup.gif') no-repeat;
      background-color: #fff;
      background-position: 0 50%;
      padding-left: 20px;
    }
